Selling
Do I need an appointment to sell?
No. Come in any time trade is open, which is until one hour before closing.
How much will you pay for my clothes?
We're known for paying the most in town. We offer the best price possible for every piece we buy, and you can take cash on the spot or more in trade credit.
Is Planet Xchange a consignment store?
No. We buy your items outright, so you get paid on the spot: cash, or more in trade credit.
What's the difference between cash and trade credit?
You can take cash on the spot or choose trade credit, which gets you more to spend in store.
How many items can I bring?
Up to 50 per trade. If you're bringing more than 35, please call ahead. For the quickest turnaround, bring your best 10 items or less to our express lane.
What condition do items need to be in?
Clean, odor-free and ready to sell. Most items should be about 3 years old or newer, unless they're timeless or vintage.
What counts as vintage?
Pieces from 2000 or earlier.
What don't you buy?
Intimates (underwear, socks, bras), worn or dirty shoes, and anything that needs cleaning or repair.
What happens to items you don't buy?
You can take them home or donate them to our sister store, Greater Goods.
Do you buy designer and luxury items?
Yes. Bring receipts or authenticity papers if you have them.
Do you buy shoes, bags and accessories?
Yes. We buy shoes, belts, purses and wallets in great condition. We don't buy worn or dirty shoes.

Women's 00-22 and XXS-XXL. Men's 26-42 and XS-XXXL.

What are your hours?
All three stores are open Monday to Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm. Trade closes one hour before closing at Planet Xchange Knoxville and Alcoa. Greater Goods has no trade counter.
What is Greater Goods?
Greater Goods is our sister store at 8424 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. It sells clothing by the pound for $3.99 per pound, or $1.99 per pound on sale days (the first Friday and Saturday of every month), stocked mainly by items Planet Xchange customers leave behind, and proceeds are shared with Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee.
